Poppy Display To Light Up Conisbrough Castle

Poppies will light up the night sky and transform Conisbrough Castle into a monument of remembrance, thanks to the backing of scores of Doncaster people, businesses and a community grant.

The poppies illuminated onto the castle is the work of Conisbrough born artist Rachel Horne, (and our co-editor!) Rachel’s artwork was then made into the projection slides to be used for the display.

Illuminated poppy images will be projected onto  between 6.00pm and 9.30pm on Friday 11th. On Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th, the poppies will be projected from 7.00pm to 9.30pm.The lights will be switched on by a different person each night, with Doncaster’s own Ben Parkinson MBE doing the honours on Remembrance Sunday evening.

Entry is completely free. There will be collections on the evenings of the events which will be donated to the Conisbrough and Denaby branch of the Royal British Legion.
